Day

1

Arrival and visit Granada

Morning: upon arrival, we will delve into the Realejo neighbor (old Jewish Quarter) & visit the Sephardi Museum, dedicated to the culture of Sephardic Jews who used to live there before the Inquisition.

Afternoon: Explore the imposing UNESCO World Heritage Site of La Alhambra, which is built over many centuries. It consists of gardens, fortifications and sumptuous palaces, designed in the Mudéjar style.

Overnight in Granada

 

 

 

Day

2

Úbeda & Jaén

Morning: Transfer to the UNESCO World Heritage city of Úbeda, famous for its Renaissance buildings. Here we will unveil the secrets of the Synagogue "of Water", formed by several rooms which had remained hidden for a long time.

Afternoon: Visit the remnants of the Jewish Quarter at nearby Jaén.

3

Lucena & Córdoba

Morning: Lucena was regarded as the "entirely Jewish city" and tradition states that it was founded by Jews actually during the 11th when the Muslim rule in Spain. We will visit the largest Sephardi necropolis in Spain with over 370 tombs.

Afternoon: after arriving in Cordoba, we will attend a workshop at "Casa Sefarad", a cultural project which is concerned with Judeo-Spanish culture, history and tradition.

Overnight in Córdoba.

4

Córdoba

Visit the historical town center with the famous Mosque/Cathedral & the Medieval Synagogue. The Mosque, nowadays the Cathedral, is the foremost example of Islamic architecture in Spain of what was once the capital of the Caliphate of Al-Andalus. The Synagogue was built in 1315 in Mudéjar style.
Overnight in Córdoba.

 

 

 

 

Day

5

Sevilla

Morning: Seville by foot visiting the Cathedral & Alcázar. The imposing Cathedral of Seville is one of the largest in the world. It was registered in 1987 by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. The Alcázar of Seville is a Royal Palace, originally a Moorish fort. We will explore the labyrinthic Santa Cruz neighbour, the former Jewish Quarter, and will evoke its former days of glory.

Afternoon: explore the majestic Plaza España followed by a stroll by mini-cruise along the water of the Guadalquivir river. Flamenco show in the evening.

Overnight in Seville.
